Your saved shortlist and search location
When you save a provider, its public NPI is stored in this browser until you remove it or clear the shortlist. Your search location and return-to-results link are kept for the browser session to make navigation easier. These details are not sent to analytics. Opening a comparison sends the selected NPIs to HCPList to retrieve the public profiles. You can clear the shortlist from its page or clear browser storage.

Public provider data
Provider profiles combine public NPPES business information with other public CMS datasets, including reported background, affiliations, activity, and general payments. HCPList does not collect patient records or offer clinical services. Public business contact data can sometimes include a home address if it was reported as a business practice address. Essential operations
The website uses a first-party session cookie for forms and security. Infrastructure may process requests and technical information such as IP addresses to serve the website and prevent abuse. Search terms appear in the page URL; avoid entering personal health information. We do not intentionally send search terms or provider identifiers to analytics.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you choose “Allow analytics.” We send general page types and interactions such as a search submission, profile open, or directions click. Search terms, NPI numbers, provider names, and full search URLs are excluded from these events. Provider page addresses are replaced with a generic profile path. Google may process device and network information as part of its analytics service.
You can change your choice using “Cookie choices” in the footer. Choosing essential cookies only prevents analytics from loading and disables collection if it was previously enabled. Read Google’s Privacy Policy for information about Google services.
Advertising
Advertising spaces are labeled. HCPList has applied to use Google AdSense. Live Google ad delivery remains disabled until site approval and the required consent configuration are in place. Advertisements are separate from provider listings and do not affect the order of results.
Messages you submit
Our contact form stores your message, the email address you provide, and an optional NPI in a private inbox. We use these details to review and respond to the issue. Do not include medical records, patient information, account credentials, or identity documents. We do not publish contact messages.
External links and retention
Directions open Google Maps. Other links may open government or third-party websites, which have their own privacy practices. We retain contact messages only as needed to handle requests and maintain the service. Contact us to ask about a submitted message or request its deletion.
